About Après Diem

Every city has restaurants, but very few become part of the neighborhood. We're grateful to be one of them — a Sunday brunch that becomes a tradition, a date that becomes an anniversary, a regular whose order we already know. From the rigatoni to our 10oz espresso martinis to a milk chocolate cake you'll only find here, Apres Diem doesn't stay open 26 years by accident.

Apres Diem was founded in 2000 as the evolution of the beloved Cafe Diem, which ran in Poncey-Highland from 1992 to 2000. It's a charming European bistro built as a home away from home — for artists, moviegoers, and everyone in between. In the true spirit of a laid-back European café, stay as long as you like: eat, drink, or linger over espresso and dessert.

From the Eastside BeltLine: look for the green or charcoal BeltLine directional sign pointing toward the Midtown Promenade exit. Follow the covered pedestrian breezeway through the retail building, then take the ramp or stairs down. Turn left and walk past Trader Joe's — you'll see Handel's Ice Cream on the level below. Walk past it toward the left and down a short flight of stairs, then head toward the second section of the shopping center. Apres Diem sits just to the left of Midtown Art Cinema: look for the wooden lattice patio first, then the red umbrellas and metal café tables.
